I think a lot of us spent a long time grinding the gold jewels, there were some awesome bits to get and they made huge differences, in some cases, to a class.
Why can these not be scaled up to 100 and added to the game? For one thing, it encourages group play, I can't count the number of instances you'd see in GLFF for 3-6-12man raids, with everyone trying to get golds, whereas nowadays on Brandywine, lotros biggest server, getting a Sammath Gul run going at prime-time is more challenging than the Tier 2 Challenge quest.
Anyway, I just think it would be cool if these were obtainable again, they were a bit of a grind but what in lotro isn't? They had lovely stats for the most part, many of the bonuses rocked, and it seems like a big waste of developer time, to just have these removed permanently from the game so soon after they came out.
Might be worth upping the drop rate a little though, some people did hundreds of runs getting nothing, only to see someone get a gold on their first run. But hey-ho!
And for the record I'd rather see time invested in this than in anniversary events, games, and cosmetic pets, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.
Anyone else want to see these return? (Albeit at marginally less of a grind :p)
